C-3PO is a humanoid robot from the Star Wars franchise. More specifically, See-threepio, or just Threepio, is a protocol droid designed to assist in etiquette, customs, and translation. C-3PO is easily recognised by its iconic polished gold plating; although, the droid has been depicted with different coloured limbs in some films. C-3PO was originally built from salvaged junk parts by Anakin Skywalker: as explained in the film ‘Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace’. C-3PO stands for Custom Third Party Object.
