Lost in Space is a science fiction television series which first aired in 1965. The series is loosely based on the Johann David Wyss novel ‘The Swiss Family Robinson’. The series follows the adventures of the Robinson family who are space colonists struggling to survive in space.

One of the main characters was a robot simply called, ‘The Robot’. The Robot is a popular and much-loved icon in the world of robots, likely because it possessed very endearing, human-like qualities. The Robot laughed, made jokes, felt sad and even played musical instruments to amuse the crew. Its main role was to protect the youngest member of the family and frequently yelled, “Danger, danger, Will Robinson!”.
