The Terminator is a science fiction film franchise which encompasses a series of films, as well as off-shoot comics and novels. It follows the battle between robots, formed from a synthetic machine network called Skynet, and humans, who have organised themselves into a resistance with the help of John Connor.

The original 1984 film, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, introduces us to the T-800 (Model 101), a robot with living tissue over a chrome metal endoskeleton.
